“down-to-earth
magical - and
magically
down-to-earth”
Gritty roots music,
played solo in the
turn-of-the-century
ambience of
Medalta Potteries - the perfect venue for a distinctive and acclaimed artist. "
One
of 9 children, Fred left the family farm at
age 15 for a life of singing, songwriting,
travelling, painting, and social activism.Several decades (and 17 albums) later, Fred
is “revered, but forever underrated”. He
has been likened to Bruce Springsteen,
Woody Guthrie, Guy Clark, John Prine,
and Steve Earle.
His “devastatingly good,
economical writing” has resulted in over
1000 songs, three tribute albums, and covers
by a wide range of performers. A keen and
often hilarious raconteur, Fred’s concerts are
legendary.
“If you miss Fred Eaglesmith,
you’re really missing out.” (The New Yorker)
