Greetings
Greetings and Welcome to the 2nd annual Tongue on the Post Folk Festival. Last year’s phenomenal success stoked the fires and the Medicine Hat Folk Music Club is proud to continue this new tradition, bringing a warm glow to mid-Winter in southeast Alberta. The dedicated board of directors and the TOP committee have truly worked overtime to make our second outing even more music-filled and crowd friendly.
We’ve added pre-festival shows in several downtown venues and a school concert by Canadian folk music legend Valdy. Our Saturday afternoon side-stages promise to be as magical as last year, if not more so, and it’s safe to say that ours is the first festival in Canada to offer an interactive “learn the didgeridoo” workshop. Go figure. That’s just the kind of crazy, creative folks we have in the Folk Music Club.
Of course, all this takes a lot of brainpower, sweat, and resources. Special thanks are due to our small army of volunteers (please pat one on the back and say thank you), our club membership, our wonderful sponsors, the TOP committee, and our board of directors. To all you dedicated contributors, I say don’t wait until the Festival is over, give yourselves a round of applause and ENJOY!!!.
