Jamie, Colin, Chuck, and Becky don't always know what to call it, but they certainly enjoy playing it. Inspired by artists such as Lucinda Williams, Chris Issac, and Ryan Adams, The Pines are roaring it up around Calgary, bringing you the covers and the originals, the happy and the sad, and the Wide Awake and Drunk

Jamie Gould has always sung. Competing in Royal Conservatory programs, she would hold her own concerts on her parent's driveway using a jump rope as a mic, would sing on the school bus, to her classmates - to pretty much anyone who would stop to listen. Forming her first band Plumm when she was 19, she was able to cut her first album, had regular radio play, had a song in a movie, and opened for Richard Buckner – who told her she has the voice of an angel. Writing, recording with and for friends and various projects later, Jamie formed The Pines. Organic, melodic, roots music; Jamie has found her home.

Colin Henthorne is The Pines guitar guy. He's a rustic man, living on the land with his wife, and doesn't mind a little Eva Cassidy, Amos Garrett, and Blue Rodeo to chill, while making a killer pot of spaghetti. Colin's not only our guitar guy, he's a Sea Captain, and a Fred Watson trophy award winner. Colin has played guitar in various projects over the years. He's got a great ear and is a fantastic song writer. He's part of The Pines equation and that makes perfect mathematical sense, musically speaking of course.

Becky Salmond is classically trained in piano and voice. More than a back-up singer, Becky is the ultimate harmonist. Like decoding a secret language, Becky hears the harmonies most do not. She is a musical prodigy with outstanding merits as a pianist, and also plays trombone, tuba, accordion, penny whistle, and guitar; really a one woman band. She has a sharp ear, a beautiful wink, and fits in with the nerds, jocks, pretty girls, and oh too cool kids. Becky joined her first band in 2007, and joined The Pines in 2008. She's one of a kind, and The Pines like it that way.

Chuck Gould is the newest member of The Pines. Playing a snare and a conga, his laid back rhythms complement the effortless sound of this vocal driven band. He not only gets what this music about, he looks cool while playing it. Chuck is also a fantastic song writer with a guitar background. And if that wasn't enough, he is a published author, and an amazing painter. He is the ultimate art guy.
