Singer Songwriter Evening
Friday January 22
7 pm.
Esplanade Main Theatre
Free Event

Over a dozen local and invited folk musicians showcase their original music. Performers are limited to 3 songs or 15 minute  sets. Music in a variety of styles, musical genres, and subjects, family-friendly and informal - an appetizer for Saturday's main Festival events. Hosted by CKUA's Tom Coxworth and former Hatter Phyllis Sinclair.

Musicians:

  • sign up in advance by contacting Bruce
  • last minute sign-up at the Esplanade after 5:00 on show night, space permitting
  • Sets limited to three songs (only one cover) and 12-15 minutes maximum
  • Performers bring and take care of their own instruments.
  • We provide mikes, DI boxes for electric instruments, and a music stand.
  • Hand percussion allowed, but no drum kits.
  • It's a family event, so content should be chosen appropriately.

Parking

On Saturday afternoon you can use street parking immediately adjacent to The Esplanade without any time restriction. The 2-hour time limit has been lifted for TOP only. This also applies to the north side of 1st Street SE beside the Library, from 6th Ave. SE to 5th Ave. SE.

The 2-hour street parking time limit remains in effect elsewhere downtown.

Please do not use the Library parking lot. You will be ticketed.

Other options:

  • the Cottonwood Lot, kitty-corner from City Hall
  • Transit Terminal parking (2nd floor) 
  • the Esplanade parking lot ($4 charge)
